Another great episode.
My thoughts:
Ser Jamie was totally saved by both Bran and Brienne but for good reason. Firstly Jamie is a wildly popular character in the show and has a great deal of value in the wars to come. But sparing him continues to increase the divide between Dany and Tyrion. Bran recognizes Jamie's value and doesn't tell anyone of Jamie's crime against him. That and Bran truly isn't Bran anymore and admits to the fact that without Jamie Bran wouldn't be the three-eyed raven. Jon is very specific in his response that "we need every man we can get" however; there was an exchange between Jon and Dany that, while brief speaks to Jon coming to terms with who he is... The son of Rhaegar Targaryen and the rightful heir to the Seven Kingdoms.
Arya and Gendry get it on! Called this one! Arya finally loses her virginity cause well..they are all gonna die... LOL! Such a WWII reference and so classic! But Arya once again displays how bad ass she is throwing the dragon glass daggers in quick succession accurately.
Side note: Dragon Glass: Why after being melted down and forged does dragon glass have the appearance of being chipped into form? It would be smooth and sharpened. Not chipped into shape.
Can Bran see into the future? The short answer is no. The long answer is that he has seen into the future before. He foresaw his father's death and the destruction of the Crypt of Baylor. (SP?) But he cannot willfully look into the future or at least the show hasn't indicated that he can. If he could would he be telling people about what is going on in the present? If Winterfell is destined to fall wouldn't he tell everyone there to leave to a place where they wouldn't fail? No. Bran cannot foretell the future only see what has already happened or is happening. "The ink is already dry".
Notice how the producers made Brienne and Jamie the same height during their second interaction? Incoming love story between those two. I feel bad for Tormund...
Jorah comes to the aid of Tyrion. Why? Because Tyrion is loyal, smart and the best man for the job and Jorah knows it. While Jorah is a capable fighter he is no strategist. And the Spider? Well the Spider's loyalty is questionable. Perhaps a betrayal is in the making given who Jon Snow is. Perhaps Tyrion may take part in that betrayal of Daenerys given she is not the true and rightful heir to the Iron Throne.
Sansa and Daenerys have a brief moment. Sansa is turning out to be the Cercei of the North. Ruthless and singular in her determination with regards to the safety of the North.
Sansa and Theon meet again. This scene almost brought tears to my eyes. How Sansa greeted Theon was truly beautiful but not unexpected. Theon saved Sansa and they've known each other since he was 10.
Bran reveals what the Night King truly wants. The death of the the Three-Eyed Raven and thereby the death of the memory of man. Tyrion and Bran sit down to have Bran give Tyrion his life story. Not an insignificant event.
Tormund is just awesome....
Arya and the Hound continue their very close relationship.
Arya's spear will have significance. A dragon slaying weapon.
Looking forward to next week.
