It is broken for many reasons. First among them was its design.
Call your state legislators and insist they approve the Article V convention of States to propose amendments.

I pledge allegiance to the Constitution as written and understood by this nation's founders, and to the Republic it created, an indivisible union of sovereign States, with liberty and justice for all.

    A) SSI has no business being funded by SS unless the SSI recipient has worked and contributed for the qualifying number of years.
    B) SS is funded by workers - it is not tax money, so pilfering it is pension fund fraud and the government should be prosecuted and sued for touching any of that money for anything other than pension benefits.

Stealing wealth is what governments do.

We could limit the government. We have a reasonably good, but unused Constitution we might draw upon.

And this whole time I thought low wage earning Mexicans had already saved the system
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

I am not sure why CNN thinks this is breaking news. For the last several years I have gotten my social security benefits letter stating that in 2035 we would see a 25% cut in benefits.

Their answer is just to print more money.

The fools. Everyone who fell for the Ponzi Scheme are fools.
Peter 3 times in my lifetime theyve said the same thing were over 40 yrs past the first time they said it.

There are two programs that should always continue and be salvaged Social Security and Medicare because they are mostly people that worked all their lives.

There has to be a reward to work in low paying jobs with no benefits or pensions or NO one will and just stay on the dole instead of work.

There are MILLIONS of people who work who dont earn enough to save a FORTUNE for when they are retired and to have health care. Its just not possible, and if theres no social security or medicare society will pay through the nose anyway. At least they contribute to SS and Medicare. Other programs is all on us.

And of course our vain politicians will only increase more legal immigration as well as raising the eligibility age yet again to counter

Shame on them and shame on the American people for this

Both programs are unconstitutional. They are the antithesis of limited government. They are a means to entrap and enslave you. The politicians have succeeded.

The constitution was destroyed a long time ago. It's now unfixable because it was flawed from the beginning. Many of the founders warned that this would happen. As always, we should have listened.
Power always thinks it has a great soul, and vast views, beyond the comprehension of the weak. And that it is doing God service when it is violating all His laws.
