Woman to Bernie Sanders: My Family Fled Soviet Russia, Socialism Has Failed In Nearly Every Country reports on a townhall meeting with Sanders.

A woman asks Sanders: "Hi, Senator Sanders. So my father's family left Soviet Russia in 1979 fleeing from some of the very same socialist policies that you seem eager to implement in this country. So my question is, how do you rectify your notion of democratic socialism with the failures of socialism in nearly every country that has tried it?"

Sanders, after hemming and hawing, answers: "What do I mean when I talk about democratic socialism? It certainly is not the authoritarian communism that existed in the Soviet Union and in other communist countries. This is what it means."

Well, actually, he answered what he believes it is not. So what is it?

It means that we cherish, among other things, our Bill of Rights. And Franklin Roosevelt made this point -- Chris, I don't know if you remember -- read about it, in 1944, in a State of the Union Address that never got a whole lot of attention, this is what he said basically. It was a very profound speech toward the end of World War II.

He said, you know, we've got a great Constitution. Bill of Rights protects your freedom of religion, freedom of assembly, freedom of speech, and all that stuff, great, but you know what it doesn't protect? It doesn't protect and guarantee your economic rights.

I doubt anyone would disagree that the Constitution, in its Bill of Rights, protects the rights of the people. Note, however, how Sanders, and FDR before him, expand that into the government guaranteeing economic rights. How it changes the rights of the people to pursue happiness responsibly into the government guaranteeing it will give you that happiness.

As an example, he says "I believe in a democratic, civilized society, health care is a human right. Government should make that happen."

Cuomo reminds him, "You used to argue that you should have government control the means of capitalism, energy companies...."

Marx didn't call that "authoritarian communism" but the dictatorship of the proletariat that would transition to communism free of government, society, and scarcity, in short, authoritarian socialism.

Notice.....Sander decline to debate Thomas Sowell about his Democratic Socialism. Anytime Sanders is asked tough questions he deflects to something else or goes off on a tangent.

Bernie Sanders Claims He Doesn't Support Authoritarian Communism (He Does) …..


In his answer, Sanders claimed he hasn't supported authoritarian communism, but his record clearly shows otherwise.

First, he honeymooned in the former Soviet Union. When he arrived back in the United States, he talked about how great it was.


Next, Sanders believes bread lines are an indication of a healthy economy in a country. He said so about Nicaragua.


Third, he's been an advocate for the government takeover and nationalization of entire industries.


And most recently, Sanders backed the socialist and tyranical regimes of Hugo Chavez and Nicolas Maduro in Venezuela. He's also refused to call Maduro a dictator, despite the withholding of food, electricity, water and humanitarian aid from the Venezuelan people.....snip~

Lets hope Sanders wins the Demo Primary. Then Trump will steamroll him over all he has said about Socialism and sticking up for Communism.

Hugh Hewitt put Bernie on display yesterday with old footage with what the Sandman said about Cuba and Russia with their youth programs. Sanders is hoping millennials wont go and research. He knows the majority of the leftness doesn't. So for him its a good bet.

He doesn't mean Soviet-style Communism of course. He honeymooned in the Soviet Union with his wife and he didn't get laid.

He's very neo-Marxian is all he says but he's not communist as he tends to be too nationalist.

He is an old communist. He lies and switches his opinion for whatever his base supports. In college he was a member of the Marxist party, in 2014 he came out supporting Israel bombing Palestine's and now against he claims. He praised Stalin and even received an award. Yes in 1988 he did honeymoon in communist Russia. The man has never been a so called light socialist, he is a full blown communist.
