I suppose I'm at the age where my idols will be passing regularly. Kinda sucky.
RIP John. You were one of the greats!

Boston Celtics great John Havlicek, who passed away Thursday, was briefly a member of the Cleveland Browns. Paul Brown made him a seventh-round pick in 1962 (95th overall). Havlicek hadn't played football since high school, but Brown thought he could be a receiver. Havlicek spent one camp in football and wore No. 89. He played in one game – throwing a key block on a 45-yard TD run by Jim Brown. He then went on to a Hall of Fame career in basketball – even though in 1966 Art Modell tried to entice him to return to the NFL, according to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Had the privilege of seeing him play many times, and also met him several times at charity events.
Great player and really nice guy. He did a lot of charity work.
