I wonder how the actors and actress's are feeling about their future, more and more movies are computer generated animations, like the last Resident Evil movie, all the others were human actors.

Thats another movie I wont bother watching animations, I did like the lion king when I brought my grandson to see it. But animal animations I find alot more favorable than total human animation

There is something endearing about watching the older Godzilla movies where people dressed up in costumes and wrecked toy towns, but I can't imagine how that could be as satisfying in today's world. I think Godzilla is one of very few franchises wherein lots of computer animation is actually justified. And it looks truly amazing here!

Human actors put a modicum of reality to a studio created scenario a MOVIE. Having it animated is just not realistic enough to watch.

I think it could be if they wanted to. However, animation "reality" seems to have leveled off. At least I haven't seen anything more believable recently than they were making 10 years ago, not that I watch for it. I don't, but I do take note when I see something "new".

I wonder, if in order to maximize profits, they're taking shortcuts in CGI in order to create acceptably "good enough" rather than really going all out to fake reality? Because I think they're capable of faking actors now on such a high level that you wouldn't be able to tell it's CGI. But maybe it just costs too much to do it when most of an audience doesn't pay that close attention to it anyway.

Could be that for this reason, actors won't become extinct, as I predicted they would about 30 years ago.

Don't know, but I do hate watching most CGI $#@!. Much of it looks alike.

Follow-up: this movie sucked. I don't just mean objectively, but also as a Godzilla movie. We were promised a more-or-less film-length brawl of 17 monsters and got a brawl of 4 in the last 20% of the movie. Moreover, the fight was impossible to keep up with at many points because of irresponsible camera and animation choices, so one couldn't enjoy much of it.

The story is also of MUCH lower quality than that of the 2014 Godzilla film by the same director. It goes for the maximally dramatic every time at the expense of coherence and there is basically no character development at all, and less that is believable. The superior acting skills of Millie Bobby Brown (who you may recall from her role as Eleven in the hit show Stranger Things) definitely help every scene that her character is in and are honestly the highlight of the experience, but aren't nearly enough to compensate for the exceedingly poor writing and direction this movie suffers from, or the strikingly unconvincing acting of some of the adults she finds herself stuck working with. It's not her fault this movie sucks, but it does.

Even hardcore Godzilla fans should consider skipping this one.

I have read that most of what Hollywood has put out lately sucks.
