Has Russia put nukes in Venezuela?

Has Russia put nukes in Venezuela?

Probably not, but if so does it really matter? Russia has 1000s of ICMBs that can hit anything these alleged missiles can. Russia had very few weapons that could hit the US in 1963 which caused the Cuban Missile Crisis.

RUSSIA has secretly installed nuclear missiles in Venezuela a US politician has sensationally claimed in a chilling echo of the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Republican congressman Mario Diaz-Balart said he believes Vladimir Putin's hidden nukes are now a direct threat to the "national security" of the United States.

    So the rumors go....

Something's heating up down there, but, yes, I see your point about the ICBMs.

When they get up in the morning and face the rising sun, if they rotate to the right 60-80 degrees ... that's it!

    Aim there.

I would think the only reason Russia would do it is to prevent a US invasion / peace keeping mission of /in Venezuela. But I think Russia wants the US to invade- bog the US down like we were in Iraq and Afghanistan. Russia got away with a lot in that time.

Although I do think it is possible that the US may become involved in Venezuela's civil war, I seriously doubt that this would involve a physical invasion.

Instead, it would more likely involve cruise missiles. (Remember the strikes upon Syria just a bit over a year ago?)

The Monroe Doctrine has remained dormant for far too long.

We need to revive it--and with considerable vigor.

I think the whole world , including Russia and China do not want to see another Iraq or Afghanistan.... Yes , it will cost America's economy dearly to get militarily involved in Venezuala , but forget about blaming anyone else if that happens , because it will be America's choice and no one else's . The only threat to America is the threat of losing it's hegemony , but I think it's too late....the gate is open and that horse has already bolted.

Re-read my post. I didn't say it would be Russia's or any other nations' to blame if the US sends troops into Venezuela. I said it would serve Russia's purpose.

The Monroe Doctrine said the US would prevent European meddling in the Americas. It is not about the US micromanaging American nations' internal affairs.

Well , that would depend on what you considered Russia's purpose to be ? They continue to hold out an olive branch to America , but all they ever get is dumb-arsed neocon Russiaphobia , and silly sanctions attempting to damage their economy . America is blatantly out of line in their dealings with Venezuela , and Trump's bad choices of people to handle it competently......and it's all about accommodating the needs of the Koch Brothers. It's a sad excuse for diplomacy from a country that considers itself the world leader.
