I sure as Hell don't want them handling a firearm under the influence. That is every bit as bad as doing so under the influence of alcohol. It has always been my policy on every range I have ever run that if you show up under the influence of anything that may affect your reflexes or impair your judgment, you are gone and you are NEVER coming back.

It would be even worse on the street. At least under range conditions, you would be monitored and under a certain amount of control.
There are already laws about the handling of firearms while under the influence. No need to remove people’s rights.

    Who suggested any such thing?

The law under discussion is already in effect and has been for along time.

You can own a car if you smoke dope. Not sure, but I think you can drive too. But based on absolutely nothing, you can't own a gun if you smoke dope.

I, for one, do not see a direct connection, just the ick factor.

Do dope smokers know this risk to their 2nd Amendment right?

It is not "based on nothing".

    Do dope smokers know this?
It is up to them to educate themselves about the law.

Whatever, another fake conservative control freak spreading disinformation. Guess what, that's what liberals do, not conservatives. Thanks for the heads up.

The Federal government has no Constitutional basis for regulating and criminalizing drug use. It is a power reserved to the States.
Call your state legislators and insist they approve the Article V convention of States to propose amendments.

Slavery had been considered to be acceptable for a very long time. That was not a good argument for keeping slavery in effect.

This power, to regulate drug use, belongs to the States.

I like Cletus a great deal.

Cletus and I disagree on this point. Our disagreement does not make Cletus a fake conservative. Nor does it make me one.
