    Guns and marijuana.

    Snopes:
    What's True
Under federal law it is illegal for a marijuana user to buy or possess a firearm, even if that user lives in a state which has legalized marijuana use.

    What's False
It is not the case that states have been legalizing cannabis use and subsequently legislating to bar cannabis users from owning guns. Rather, a pre-existing and unchanging federal prohibition on controlled substances, including marijuana, prohibits the possession or purchase of firearms by anyone who uses those controlled substances, including marijuana. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/ca...arijuana-guns/
Important to note, IMHO, that it's the feds primarily that outlaw gun possession by marijuana users, definitely a progressive trojan horse, and something that needs revision.

There is no reason to revise it.

How about expanding the ban to individuals who drink alcohol? The sale, possession and use of marijuana is as legal in some states as doing any of those things with booze. If a state wants to permit its marijuana using citizens to own firearms, shouldn't it have the right to do so?

That would be a great point except that you can have a beer or two and not be impaired, you cannot smoke weed without being impaired.

Marijuana is illegal under federal law. As long as it stays illegal, the firearms prohibition should remain in effect.

My personal opinion is that Marijuana users are weak minded and willful violators of the law and I don't want them anywhere near me with a firearm. I would prefer they not be near me at all.

Are you kidding? Dude, this control freakishness has to stop, it has no place in conservatism.

If I guzzle two beers (which I often do) I am FAR more impaired than if I take a toke or two. Don't be ridiculous. I get it, you are anti-marijuana, that's fine, and you are entitled to your opinion. But you don't have to make stuff up man. It makes you look petty.

Drink two IPA's and get back to me. Better yet, drink two tripels.

It’s a good thing that the Constitution is not amendable by one’s opinion.

Of course Marijuana users are feeble minded and weak willed. If they weren't, they wouldn't need to use the $#@!. I don't care if they sit around toking 24 hours a day, but not around me. I sure as Hell don't want them handling a firearm under the influence. That is every bit as bad as doing so under the influence of alcohol. It has always been my policy on every range I have ever run that if you show up under the influence of anything that may affect your reflexes or impair your judgment, you are gone and you are NEVER coming back.

It would be even worse on the street. At least under range conditions, you would be monitored and under a certain amount of control.
