Forget "States' Rights" — States Are Too Big, Too

Forget "States' Rights" — States Are Too Big, Too talks, among other things, about the movement in counties to nullify gun control.

...The recent movement of rural counties standing up to state legislatures is an acknowledgment of new political and cultural realities in America. The divide between rural America and its suburban and urban counterparts is becoming pronounced, especially in regard to gun rights.

To put it in perspective, a 2017 Pew Research Center poll shows that 63 percent of rural dwellers support gun rights, whereas 47 percent in suburban areas and 37 percent in urban areas, support gun control. This is a marked contrast from 2008 where rural support stood at 46 percent, suburban at 39 percent, and urban support hovered around 32 percent.

These numbers indicate there are opportunities for advancing gun legislation – above all gun control nullification – in rural areas. In fact, the Constitutional Carry movement, has largely seen some of the least urbanized states in the country embrace these laws. The only exceptions to this rule are Arizona and Missouri....

I'm proud to stand with the rednecks on that issue.

The difference between states declaring themselves "sanctuaries" for Invaders and states and counties refusing gun control edicts:

The court decision, much celebrated by the fascists, negating Arizona's AS1070 law (or AB1070), stated that immigration policies are the sole responsibility of the federal government, not the states.

Ergo, the states cannot nullify immigration law.

Counties refusing to enforce state and federal gun grabbing laws are supported by the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution, without question.

We the People DID NOT vote in a majority Rodent Congress, they stole it via election fraud.

Right, except the point of the OP is that you cannot conflate states and counties in a dichotomy against the federal government. The point is there is, in fact, a trichotomy of federal, state and local loci of power. I'll stand with the lowest, nearest the people. Time to turn dependence upsidedown.

    Right.

Except my point was structural, and the federal government has no authority to regulate guns...EVER.

AND...since the Fourteenth Amendment expanded the Bill of Rights to the States, the Second Amendment prohibition against infringement on human rights is as valid in the states as the expansion of the Freedoms of Speech, Religion, Press, Association and Petition protected in the First, as well as the protections guaranteed by the other eight as well.

And Sanctuariness is flatly not allowed, by the various articles against "rebellion" and "insurrection".

There's no "trichotomy". The states have NO authority to invalidate the Bill of Rights, not at any level, nor can they write their own immigration policies.

    So you're wrong.

Yeah, Well what point is that? I am interested to hear what you think is "reasonable". It is always fun to hear how one person would like to restrict the rights of another.
