Lol I hear you. I put off buying a new battery for almost two months because I was trying to convince myself I didn't need it. That was foolish. I'm too frugal. Borderline cheap

If you can't use your truck when you need it, it's a dead loss. Everyone should have a battery charger. Begging for a boost doesn't guarantee that you will get one. If you aren't going to use the truck for several months, pull the battery and keep it on a trickle charge indoors or in the garage or keep the battery on trickle charge in the truck. If you aren't using a vehicle all the time, you need to run it periodically to keep the fluids from turning to shellac.

Seriously, it's kind of like having a spare tire.

I am way past borderline. I am a cheapskate! I normally don't spend money unless I absolutely have to. The only department I am not a cheapskate in is probably food, especially when it comes to food for others. I will also buy gifts for other people but god help me if I need to buy something for myself.

That is so true. For me the truck will be used all summer long. I live on two acres of woods that need a lot of upkeep. This winter was hard on the woods too. I have so many trees to tend to. That is great advice and you are so right. This is my first time ever owning a truck. I have always just had a car. It is basically an addition to my yard tools. I did see those small battery chargers at the store I think they were called a maintainer. That is a good idea.

Buy a new one and if it discharges too fast, you need to find the electrical drain.
I thought of that too, but it was running like a champ before my nephew did his thing. I even unplugged the interior light fuse, and the radio fuse just in case. It seemed like they guy who I bought it from used it pretty regularly. But I suppose those are all possibilities for sure.

That is the best thing I have ever purchased to have in my vehicle. I have one in my truck and my wife's car. It holds a charge for a good while also.

We have one of those as well. We just have just the one vehicle because parking in the city isn't easy and we don't drive a great deal. Nevertheless, when you need to drive, a dead battery is problematic. We have cold winters that can drain batteries in a couple of days.
