What's wrong with Trump? Congenital liar for starters, broken promises made to the American people while running for President, a moral blank (known cheater on his wives, both present & past), inability to craft a deal with NK, alienation of our traditional allies around the world, etc.

Not that Hillary was much better; the democrats could have done much better but they are just as dysfunctional as the republicans are. That's why a third party is so attractive at this stage of the game.

The Green Party, The Socialist Party USA, The Socialist Workers Party and even the Communist Party USA all take votes away from Democrats. There's a long list of liberal to extreme left wing alternative parties. Not so many on the right.

In my lifetime, the only real time a third party took votes away from a Republican was when Ross Perot, motivated by his personal grudge against George HW Bush, got enough votes to elect Bill Clinton.


The problem with a lot of conservative voters is that in the absence of a good candidate, they sit out the election.

Hopefully they've learned their lessons from the two major parties and do not repeat what they've observed. I agree that a third party in and of itself isn't necessarily the answer, it all depends on what their platform is and how realistic it is as well.

Platforms are only meaningful if a candidate is loyal to that platform. Politicians of all stripes pick and choose what they like in a platform and ignore the rest.
