@FindersKeepers how did it go? I am really curious.
We are all brothers and sisters in humanity. We are all made from the same dust of stars. We cannot be separated because all life is interconnected.
It's tonight! Friday night.
I've said I'd go, and it starts at 8 pm. It won't be dark here quite yet at that time, but that's when it starts. I'm a little nervous, but the gal who invited me says the other women are fun people and that I'll like them. I like her so I'm trusting her to be right about that. I'll let you know what happens!

Thanks! I've tried meditating before but my mind races -- I'm looking forward to the hot chocolate and maybe meeting some new friends. I'm not religious though, so I hope it's not too hokey - like praying to goddesses or something. LOL I'll report back tomorrow morning.

It was interesting! Perhaps a bit too new age for me, but nice people. It was still light when we got there - the people have a nice rural property with a natural "looking" swimming pool with a waterfall that circulates into the pool -- very zen. We started inside where we got cacao beans (kind of bitter but not too bad) and then we were given tiny glasses with the hot liquid cacao (it was thick and a little grainy). I had a hard time drinking mine because it was slightly bitter but I did. The group leader said it was supposed to "open your heart." We sat on mats by the pool with the full moon overhead. There were 10 of us - two were men - and we chanted some little thing (not in English) that was supposed to be a thank you to the god of cacao, then they sprinkled rose petals all around us and burned some sage to "purify" things. One gal (early 20s, long, flowing hair and skirt) told us a legend about the full moon in Guatemala and how it related to cacao, which is considered sacred there. Then they had us do "Oms," you know, that Buddhist chant where you inhale and on the exhale say "Ommmm....." That was actually kind of cool, because it created a palpable vibration - kind of embarrassing, too.
Then we went indoors and one of the younger gals read tarot cards. All in all, I was there about three hours -- and was the first to leave -- but it was enjoyable. The people were nice. I'm not all that superstitious, so our basic beliefs didn't really jive, but you could see they really believed it all, and that was okay with me.
I don't think I'll go to another one if I'm invited, but I'm glad I found out what it was.
