    Honestly....I wont.
I just wore jeans and a "tee." LOL

Three of the youngest gals wore hippie-looking skirts. I thought they might cancel, the weather earlier in the day had been super windy and cloudy, but it cleared in early evening and was quite nice.

I did feel out of place, though. I'm just not into the things they're into.

We started inside where we got cacao beans (kind of bitter but not too bad) and then we were given tiny glasses with the hot liquid cacao (it was thick and a little grainy). I had a hard time drinking mine because it was slightly bitter but I did. The group leader said it was supposed to "open your heart." We sat on mats by the pool with the full moon overhead. There were 10 of us - two were men - and we chanted some little thing (not in English) that was supposed to be a thank you to the god of cacao, then they sprinkled rose petals all around us and burned some sage to "purify" things. One gal (early 20s, long, flowing hair and skirt) told us a legend about the full moon in Guatemala and how it related to cacao, which is considered sacred there. Then they had us do "Oms," you know, that Buddhist chant where you inhale and on the exhale say "Ommmm....." That was actually kind of cool, because it created a palpable vibration - kind of embarrassing, too.

Then we went indoors and one of the younger gals read tarot cards. All in all, I was there about three hours -- and was the first to leave -- but it was enjoyable. The people were nice. I'm not all that superstitious, so our basic beliefs didn't really jive, but you could see they really believed it all, and that was okay with me.

I don't think I'll go to another one if I'm invited, but I'm glad I found out what it was.
Thank you for the update. You wrote it so well too. That was my first thought today I wonder how the ceremony went? Yeah it don't sound too bad. It actually sounds like it was interesting and fun. Nothing too weird. If you would have been a paying customer you would have gotten your moneys worth. Hey and it sounds more interesting that this forum, LoL.

It sounds like a strange blend of beliefs, tarot mixed with Buddhism, and some other things.... It makes me think of the Haitians who believe in voodoo but they are Catholics they mingle the beliefs. They are not similar at all to the group you went to, but I just mean the mingling belief's thing.

But it sounds like a fun experience you wont soon forget. Thank you for sharing that was fun. :)

That's cool, it never hurts to hang out with other peaceful human beings, even if your chakras don't align with each other, lol. Sounds like the hosts had a nice place, anyhoo.
