Making rice wine Soju & Magkgeolli & Sake

Just like I have wanted to try Kimchi for a very long time. I have also wanted to taste rice wine. I am not a drinker, but maybe about every 5 or 6 years I have a beer or two. I really love the flavor of beer, I just dont like being drunk, or how it makes the body feel. When I was younger I used to like the flavor of Vodka, I know that is lame, but I liked to sip it with OJ every now and then. Now I am just a coffee drinker. But I really want to know what the heck this rice wine tastes like. There is the Japanese Sake, there is the Korean, Soju, and Makgeolli. They say that Soju is more famous than vodka. https://www.eater.com/drinks/2017/2/...rean-rice-wine

I wondered the differnce between Sake and Soju. They say that Sake is more like wine, and Soju has a higher alcohol content. Here is a link that goes into detail on the differences. http://www.differencebetween.net/obj...sake-and-soju/

Makgeolli is an old favorite in Korea it is an ancient recipe dating back to the first century BCE. It has a lower alcohol content of 6 to 9%. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Makgeolli This is a milky drink where as Soju is clear.

I guess these are easy to make at home, anyone can do it. I think that is next on my list of cooking adventures. I need to find out what these taste like once and for all.

Here is a link on making Soju. http://howtocookdishes.blogspot.com/...make-soju.html

    This is a little ghetto.....

Like I said before, I don't really like rice wine, although it mixes well with juice.

I never cared for rice wine or soju. The last time I was in Korea they started making soju out of potatoes. It did resemble vodka.
