How gut bacteria plays a roll in our health

This is a good video. It talks about how gut bacteria plays a roll in our health, and how we can eat certian foods to improve our gut bacteria. It also talks about taking pro-biotic supplements. But I am a firm believer if we can get them through natural foods it is much safer for us. Pro-biotics are proprietary, where as fermented foods are natural. It also discusses pre-biotic foods as well that we can eat.

Here are a few more vids, there are alot out there.

How your gut affects your mental health.

How to fix your gut bacteria and lose weight

I recently made two threads in the food section one on Kimchi, and one on Rice wine & Makgeolli both of these are rich in probiotics. They are both natural ways to get them.

Here is a link on the Kimchi and the kinds of pro-biotics are in it. http://www.bbc.com/future/story/2015...his-sour-taste

Here is a link on the pro-biotic, and pre-biotic nature of Makgeolli. http://iufost.org.br/sites/iufost.or...nais/07823.pdf

I know that. You can be a pretty decent guy sometimes. I like it a lot better when we get along. I am sure that there are a lot of things we agree on that have nothing to do with politics. Perhaps we will just never see eye to eye on politics. But I must admit it is nice when we get along. Fighting is no fun. I will work on slowing my roll too. :) Thank you for what you said. I am off for now. Have a good day Cotton.

Its good that doctors are catching up to the importance of gut health. That has been a major aspect for natural-paths for quite some time.

Aging and health in general are not the gradual decline I always imagined. Once you get a certain age its like 1 step forward and 2 back. You never get that back either. As for "gut health"? Its amazing what medicine has evolved into. The mental part of ones health is a huge factor too. Once you lose a few loved ones, friends etc to natural causes you get in touch with your own mortality , quickly. I have health issues that I must address but I am stalling. I am stalling because I am scared. That is simply stupid. But I am an emotion driven person. Amazing I spent a lifetime in a career where it was my job and instinct to keep my head when everyone else lost theirs. Outside of that environment its a different game.

How gut bacteria plays a role in your health
I have read from a few different sources that not all pro-biotics work because the live microorganisms get destroyed by hydrochloric stomach-acid. So I believe that buying yogurt, or any other food for that purpose, would be a waste of time. I've read that you would need a prescription to get a really good pro-biotic. Supposedly, it would be specially coated so as not to be destroyed by stomach acid. But just imagine how expensive that would be and how little it would do for those who really need it. It would be like putting a drop of water in a large bucket. And those who really need it the most would not likely have the proper diet to support it.
