    Ancient DNA

This is a couple years old but I heard about tonight on the Science Channel. DNA was extracted from collection of mummies and the results indicated Near Eastern ancestry. That's interesting because the people at least in this part of Egypt were descended from Neolithic Levantine and Anatolian migrants. They say contemporary Egyptians possess a stronger biological link to central Africa than their ancient ancestors.

Interesting. I have heard before that the Ancient Egyptians (and Greeks) are not related to those who live in those lands today.

That's fascinating! It'd be interesting if they could somehow tie the DNA information to a known migration period or event, but it sounds as if they have no idea right now. As DNA ancestry progresses, we're learning so much more about our history. Pandora is out of her box and she's not going back in. And, we are better for that.

One of the problems for any interpretation is that the mummies are all from one specific place in the north. There is good range in terms of age ( the oldest are from circa 1400) but it's difficult to make any judgement from a limited example.

Too many geneticists in that area have blown revisionist history right out their butt to accept your remarks. "Here's what I/we think. How cool am I/are we?"

    We certainly are.

We've learned, positively, that Pocahontas is 1023/1024 pure Caucasian female ingoramus.

We the People DID NOT vote in a majority Rodent Congress, they stole it via election fraud.
