    Australian Election Shocker

    Anyone seen @PJL?

I'm worried...this must have been devastating news.

    https://townhall.com/tipsheet/guyben...power-n2546565

Literally every singles public poll of the race taken in May showed Labor ahead by two-to-four points. Indeed, the center-right coalition hadn't even managed a tie on the generic ballot since late 2017; their last lead was in two Augusts ago. Labor led in 54 consecutive polls. Against that grim backdrop, the governing conservatives launched their home stretch messaging blitz heading into the 2019 campaign's final month. Their central argument to the electorate? Labor's program of tax increases and profligate spending would once again harm the Australian economy, so voters shouldn't entrust them with power:
54 polls in a row...labor wins. Labor's platform; tax increases and green deal spending.

PJL, are you ok? Perhaps paying too much attention to American politics, what happened in your own country? Yuge win for governing conservatives wouldn't you say?

    They were the incumbent party.

I suspect if some of our conservative members here looked closely at the Australian conservatives platforms, they'd call them communists.

Remember Biden is up by 10 everywhere and Hillary was winning so comfortably they didn't use the Dossier to swing the election.

BTW don't you love the dems concern over "Russia" and election meddling? All the time its ignored what the Dossier represents. Stay classy democrats.
I am tired of everyone fighting with each other. This is all by design.

Compulsory voting makes it tough to develop an accurate poll

Compulsory voting is an interesting concept. There are equal arguments for and against.

It wasn't a word salad. Just mostly off topic.

Nevertheless, Bonham says the idea that polls are getting worse worldwide isn’t borne out by the research. Australia has typically had “very accurate” national polling, he says. That may be because voting is compulsory – if pollsters don’t have to try to anticipate who’s going to vote, they can just focus on how they are voting.
