Barr Opens Up About The Mueller Report: It's About Protecting The Presidency, Not

Barr Opens Up About The Mueller Report: It's About Protecting The Presidency, Not Trump.....

Attorney General William Barr reflected on Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report of the Russia investigation. During an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Barr said he he wanted to protect the executive branch, but not necessarily President Donald Trump.

"I felt the rules were being changed to hurt Trump, and I thought it was damaging for the presidency over the long haul," Barr said. "At every grave juncture the presidency has done what it is supposed to do, which is to provide leadership and direction. If you destroy the presidency and make it an errand boy for Congress, we’re going to be a much weaker and more divided nation."

Democrats have accused Barr of protecting Trump when he refused to comply with a Congressional subpoena and release a full, unredacted version of the Mueller report. In reality, Barr has followed the rule of the law. By law, he's not allowed to release grand jury testimony, something Democrats seem to not understand.

"I think there's a misconception out there that we know a lot about what happened,” he said. “The fact of the matter is Bob Mueller did not look at the government's activities. He was looking at whether or not the Trump campaign had conspired with the Russians. But he was not going back and looking at the counterintelligence program. And we have a number of investigations underway that touch upon it.".....snip~

Barr is correct....the Demos are out to hurt Trump anyway they can. They aren't concerned about what their actions are. Naturally they are upset that Barr is showing them to be Deviates. The more Barr talks, the more corrupt the Demos look.

Barr said he he wanted to protect the executive branch, but not necessarily President Donald Trump.
Anybody that reads that as anything other than complicit defense of Trump, would probably also believe someone when they say "it's not you, it's me".
“Conscientiously believing that the proper condition of the negro is slavery, or a complete subjection to the white man, and entertaining the belief that the day is not distant when the old Union will be restored with slavery nationally declared to be the proper condition of all of African descent, and in view of the future harmony and progress of all the States of America, I have been induced to issue this address, so that there may be no misunderstanding in the future”

It isn't the attorney-general's job to protect the presidency.

They covered that in 6th grade civics.

Here's a handy guide for those who didn't get that far.

The principal duties of the Attorney General are to:
    • Represent the United States in legal matters.
    • Supervise and direct the administration and operation of the offices, boards, divisions, and bureaus that comprise the Department.
    • Furnish advice and opinions, formal and informal, on legal matters to the President and the Cabinet and to the heads of the executive departments and agencies of the government, as provided by law.
    • Make recommendations to the President concerning appointments to federal judicial positions and to positions within the Department, including U.S. Attorneys and U.S. Marshals.
    • Represent or supervise the representation of the United States Government in the Supreme Court of the United States and all other courts, foreign and domestic, in which the United States is a party or has an interest as may be deemed appropriate.
    • Perform or supervise the performance of other duties required by statute or Executive Order.

As anyone can see, there's nothing in there about protecting the president or, for the particularly credulous among us, the executive branch.

You remember "new math", that's "new law" according to our constitutional conservatives here.

    Right.

It's his job to find and punish criminals.

Which mean, since the Rodents have engaged in a criminal coup to destroy the presudency, it's his job tk prosecute the criminals, which makes it h I s job to protect the oresidency...who, as Mueller PROVED, is innocent of all wrong doing.
    Freedom Requires Obstinance.

We the People DID NOT vote in a majority Rodent Congress, they stole it via election fraud.

The Department of Justice has maintained that Barr's belief in executive power extends to Democrats and Republicans. The department told The Journal that he advised former President Bill Clinton to not authorize the independent counsel statute during a probe into a land deal......snip~

For those under that 4th grade mentality that don't fully comprehend upholding the Constitution and all in it. LMAO.

The presidency preceded Trump and it will continue after he serves his one or two terms.

It can be when corrupt forces are trying to illegally overturn the result of an election. If you allow that the presidency is harmed forever. The presidency in and of itself is more than just the current occupant of the office.

Because of a low intelligence and poor reading comprehension, the troll doesn't understand the difference between the president and the presidency. It thinks it's the same thing.
