What does income have to do with population growth that directly correlates to agriculture?

Yes, farmers bust their butts, at least before mechanuization, but they have more assurance tgst food will show up.

Also, farmers create food surpluses, and it was thst surplus that enabled men to create cities, and it was in the cities where real human progress happens.

Farm production has almost always outstripped population growth.

Without complete details of how the study was conducted, it doesn't mean much. For example, it says that Hunter-gatherers adopted farming and worked about 10 hours longer. Perhaps it was due to not having any experience at farming and/or not having the right equipment.

I'm trying to show when mankind was caught in the Malthusian Trap. The same graph applies to population. Population would rise, production couldn't match its demands, and it would decline. For all of recorded history up until the Induction Revolution when automation in production outpaced population growth.

Here's a chart of world population:

Population growth was kept low most of mankind's existence by limitations in agricultural production. This is known as the Malthusian Trap.

Wouldn't the Malthusian Trap also apply to hunting and gathering? Has anyone calculated the maximum world wide population that would be supported without agriculture? The world wide population of hunters and gatherers would grow until such time as there would be a shortage of wild animals and edible plants. So the population would, for a time, outpace the food supply and then comes, "war, famine and disease."
