Judge Merrick Garland Assigned To Hear Trump Tax Appeal

    Sorry, no link. On phone.

Here's what we get to find out:

Merrick denies the appeal, confirming that he is the spiteful partisan hack claimed of him by detractors, thereby confirming the wisdom of Nuclear Mitch jn refusing his nomination.

Or Merrick affirms Trump is protected against Witch Hunts from vindictive Rodents, thereby showing that Garland isn't the rabid lawless Rodent his worshippers wanted him to be.

His record points to him being fairly middle of the left lane, so now we get to see his measure as a man.

    What fun.

We the People DID NOT vote in a majority Rodent Congress, they stole it via election fraud.

I don’t think Garland gives a rats ass what anyone on the right thinks. He probably chuckles at those that thinks he should rise above partisan hackery, when the entire reason he isn’t a justice today is because of rabid partisan hackery from Mcturtle.

Let’s not even talk about the little partisan rant Kavanough showed during his confirmation process.

    So, LoL.

Based on everything I've read, I would expect Garland to rise above partisan hackery and decide the case on the law.

You are in a position, in terms of both education and experience, to understand the possibility, even the likelihood, of this happening. Unfortunately (but inevitably), should Garland's court rule against Trump, your compatriots on this forum will break out every brickbat and insult in the book to direct at Garland and the court. The most glaringly obvious decision, should it go against what they want to happen, will be condemned as an act of treason and part and parcel of a "soft coup". You know this.

What did Trump have to do with the Garland nomination?

The OP suggests that Garland might hold a grudge against Trump. Why would he? Trump had nothing to do with his nomination.

I thought judges were supposed to be above left or right. I thought they were to consider all sides and then decide according to the law. Not ignore one side or the other.

What partisan rant from Kavanaugh? Do you mean when he defended himself from the partisan motivated attacks?

If Merrick Garland truly could not care less about what people on the right think, the refusal to seat him on the Supreme Court was absolutely the right thing to do.

Plus it is completely contrary to how liberals here portrayed him when he was nominated. They said he was objective and loyal only to the US constitution. They used the word "moderate" to describe him.

Puulease, this is a situation that only can be read about in fantasy novels. There isn't a person alive that doesn't believe for one second that if this was someone from the conservative side of the house, adjudicating a liberal president, the comments would be about retribution for a past wrong.
“Conscientiously believing that the proper condition of the negro is slavery, or a complete subjection to the white man, and entertaining the belief that the day is not distant when the old Union will be restored with slavery nationally declared to be the proper condition of all of African descent, and in view of the future harmony and progress of all the States of America, I have been induced to issue this address, so that there may be no misunderstanding in the future”
