    Well, legally, pets are merely property. If someone kills your pet you can only recover the replacement value of the pet, not emotional distress or other damages. Legally, presumably, you can do what you wish.

    However, as a pet lover, how could a pet owner ever do that. Maggie was like a child to us. R.I.P.

    Extreme insecurity compensated by control -- being a control freak, would be my guess. I don't believe the executor or whoever followed the deceased's instructions was required to -- legally anyway -- to honor her request, however, being outside the purview of the will.
