The media and left doesn't like Pompeo for much of the same reasons they don't like Barr. They are both extremely intelligent and they can't rattle them or get under their skin. Pompeo and Barr make them look foolish.

Pompeo need to get out on front street about Feinstein meeting with the Iranian Foreign Minister. We don't have an Embassy nor formal relations with Iran. Demos can't just do what the hell they want to.

Those rockets are not too accurate. On my last deployment I was high up in a head quarter unit and our base got hit by over 2000 mortars and rockets in that year. One got pretty close to me- probably 500 meters. Other people weren't as lucky.

Of course the US could just break Iran and walk away. But I don't see that option being taken.

I completely agree that the cost of that victory would be unacceptable. Not monetarily either.

Correct. I think you misinterpreted me. The point is we're still there 15 years later.

Ask yourself.....who came up with the idea that once you destroy your enemy. You need to build them back up. Get them to be part of the global economy. Who said we should be responsible for the damage we have done to a country.

Let me give you a hint. It wasn't a Conservative.

I hope he's right. But the war machine is powerful and uses a logic that does not apply to the cost to the average citizen in either country will pay. It does not consider the deaths and physical and mental wounds. It considers the profit of the few, fiscally and politically. For example I fail to see how Iraqi 2.0 or remaining in afghanistan have helped the average bear here at home. But war raises political approvals and lots of money for "oil service companies". And Iran has been on the hit list form a very long time. But I do want to be wrong on this one. It also looks like even this guy is only discounting the possibility of occupation warfare, which is admittedly the worst kind. However the best kind of war is one that never happens at all. Especially when it's all about ( or so we are told) is another country possessing an anti-invasion device.
