    Transgender teen crowned prom king

A transgender teen got the royal treatment when he was crowned prom king of his Cape Cod high school.

Nicholas Bulman, who attends Barnstable High School in Hyannis, was showered with love and support from pals at the “Great Gatsby”-themed dance Friday, according to the Cape Cod Times.

“It was … really awesome,” he told the paper of his prom king status. “All my friends hugged me and congratulated me.”

Bulman, who had previously lived as “Nicole,” announced his new gender identity and began transitioning last summer, he said.

Friends were more encouraging than he’d ever imagined, cheering him on and sending messages of support.

During the dance, at the town’s Resort and Conference Center, his date, Kalyani Clarke, was crowned prom queen, he said.

Teachers said Bulman is simply a great kid.

“[He] was a great candidate [for prom king] … He’s just an all-around great person,” said class adviser Lyn Vazquez.

Congratulations to liberal progressives whose drive and determination to win has made possible.

    Way to go.

(I guess that'd be you, Alexa.)

IMO, falls into the same category as those who refer to Obama as the first Black President. Who cares what color he is, was he qualified for the position?

    Associated verbiage, with sarcasm included.

So, I guess men are better women than women are. Score one for tolerance and female empowerment.

Actually, it would be more appropriate in this case to say women are better men than men are.

Yeah, I guess you're right. I'm so used to male to female transgenders winning $#@! so I assumed that's what happened here. I guess turnabout is fair play for once.
