This has always been my favorite race since the 1960's. My love for motorcycle road racing was forged by the likes of John Surtees, Mike "The Bike, Hailwood, Giacomo Agostini and all the other legends of Grand Prix racing. At one time it was part of the Grand Prix circuit and all the professional racers and factories appeared on the island. Honda debuted its racing program here for example and soon dominated the scene. When I first started watching the IOM TT races the lap record was just over 100 mph. They are now 135 mph. 135 average through a small town with walls along the track, a point where the riders get airborne at over 100 mph and the fact that it is always raining somewhere on the mountain. It is one of the most dangerous circuits in the world with over 250 killed. There is little crowd control over the fastest bits, its run on city streets and two lane country roads and the riders currently are hitting over 200 mph on the fastest sections. This is the reason it was dropped from the Grand Prix schedule.
Daley Mathison. A fatal at Isle of Man RIP. Thanks for the work you did with youth guiding them as they navigate the sport. Dang ..just no.

Never been a motorcycle guy as back in the day I got in plenty enough trouble with 4 wheels. At times I think I may be the only 50 something dude ( can't claim that for much longer) in town not riding. Those who can no longer ride on two wheels use three. Good for them and for the sembelance of an economy that we have left in this part of the adirondacks. It gets people out of the house.
