Perhaps not vaporized....but the Kim regime would be annihilated should they launch a missile and destroy Pine Gap or Guam.

Secondly...the response to the latest missile test by NK was to launch a Trident off of a submarine sitting off the Florida Coast. Propulsion is provided by three solid-propellant rocket motors providing a range of over 7,000 miles (11,300km). ATK supplied boost motor systems for the three stages for the prime contractor Lockheed Martin Space Systems. The missile can travel at over 13,000mph.

Operational Boomers are not likely sitting off the Florida coast. Why would we use valuable SLBMs to strike targets in North Korea? It makes no sense.

    Oh.

    Well.

The shortest distance between any two points is a straight line, you say.

So you're implying that North Korea is developing previously unheard of intercontinental tunneling missiles.

That could explain their mountain's collapse.

I would expect the US would use a Spirit to deliver the response. One wouldn't waste a valuable strategic asset like an SLBM or ICBM on a single target like NorK.

In fact, it's doubtful we'd nuke NorK at all, given how the contamination would spread to Japan, South Korea and China.

No, I suspect we'd wait for a sunny days and a view of fat boy outside before launching some cruise missile from submarines twenty miles off shore.

May 02, 2017 · The One Way North Korea Could Nuke America (Right Now) Everyone Is Missing. But North Korea already has a system capable of delivering nuclear weapons anywhere—it’s just not rocket powered. Globalisation’s been driven in part by the development of technology. One of the most significant developments was the invention of shipping containers.
Nuclear bomb explosion residue can be traced to its owner IIRC. If they ever tried and succeeded we would know and then the fireworks would really kick-off.
