The funny thing is that 99% of the people don't know this. So if the SHTF, all my neighbors will be contributing to my water, and they won't know it.

Ok, here's where the rubber meets the road.
I looked into it and discovered that the water makes the difference on life-span. If you have hard water, the minerals and particulate matter build up on the heated parts. The harder the water, the faster it builds up.
Soft water, or salted, results in brine build up residue. Again, life-span.
The best for a tankless system is osmosis-treated water. All the minerals are removed and particulate matter is filtered out.
What comes out through osmosis is pure H2O. No minerals. Not good for plants or animals. It lacks what your body needs in water.
So, if you're going tankless, consider the option for an osmosis system. Best place to start is to have your water tested. THEN decide to use or not.

What is a “hot water heater”?
“Conscientiously believing that the proper condition of the negro is slavery, or a complete subjection to the white man, and entertaining the belief that the day is not distant when the old Union will be restored with slavery nationally declared to be the proper condition of all of African descent, and in view of the future harmony and progress of all the States of America, I have been induced to issue this address, so that there may be no misunderstanding in the future”

Might as well call it a “flying in the air airplane”, because that is the same as saying “hot water heater”.

Anyone else have any experience with them
I had one once. I liked it. Never had a problem with it. It was a Bosch.

I’d put one in my house now, but we don’t have natural gas lines in my area. The electric tankless water heaters are junk.

He did look foolish on that trolling attempt. I thought his standards were higher than that.
