    Tankless Hot Water Heaters

Theyve been around along time, I was wondering if theyve gotten any better. My hotwater heater has had the elements replaced twice, next time Im going to get a new one installed. At the VFW guys are telling me they have tankless and love them.

Anyone else have any experience with them

Mrs. U and I looked into it prior to when WPOAT instituted his new waterheater guidelines. We were told that the ground water was too cold in Medina and that maintenance was a Pelosi. So, we bought a tank before the regs changed and stuck it in the basement and had it installed a few years later.

Ground water should be warmer in fla but that doesnt have to be the case. My neighbor is getting one installed thurs, so Ill have first hand review but he bought a cheap one off of ebay.

I tried to tell him, youre going to buy a no name cheap water heater and the installation will be double what that costs, I said I suggest you do some research and buy a better one. He wouldnt do it, I wish him the best of luck

The one good thing about traditional water heaters is that if the SHTF you have ~50 gallons of water that you can use.

My generator would run the tankless in short spurts, tankless use half the electric as a tank heater

If the SHTF I would want the water for survival more than for running my pluming with a generator.
