Boston Red Sox legend David “Big Papi” Ortiz has been shot in the Dominican Republic, according to his father

Ortiz was shot during a burglary attempt at an entertainment center in Santo Domingo.
Ortiz, 37, was shot in the leg.
Ortiz’ father told ESPN that Ortiz was injured and taken to the hospital, but did not tell him his condition.
A suspect was taken into custody.
