In my immediate family, if it's your birthday you get to choose what the evening meal is going to be, and other family members have to prepare it for you. I also get to choose on Father's Day, and the wife does on Mother's Day.
I've been thinking about what I want to have this coming Sunday, and it just hit me. Braised chicken livers and rice.

I always choose one of two "my Day" dinners to be made in my honor. Beef Stroganoff of Lasagna. If a dessert choice is offered it's strawberry shortcake using real pound cake as the base.

When I was a kid my favorite BD dessert was chocolate cake, but later it became strawberry shortcake (because I was born in June and that's when all the local strawberries are available). Yum!

I did a lot of rabbit and squirrel hunting in PA, used to make that and out of squirrel also - sour squirrel, basically the same recipe.
