    Quail

We have lots of quail around here, and the wife puts big blocks of the kind of seeds they like - I think they're actually called quail seed blocks - under all the bushes in our front yard to attract them.

The coolest and funniest thing is to watch the mama and papa quail herding the tiny little ones around. They move in fast motion, and the chicks are going in all directions at once, while the parents try to keep them corralled and moving in one direction down the street or sidewalk. It looks exactly like something out of an animated cartoon.

Great photo! Did you take it?

We have quite a few quail around here, too, but typically we only see the adults due to all the prairie grasses and shrubbery that hides the wee ones. Interesting little critters. Cute as buttons.

No, I just grabbed the photo off the Internet. When I see our quail, they're always moving too fast to get a picture of.

I had quail eggs at The Landmark restaurant in Mesa AZ. Not a fan. Maybe I'll try roasted quail one day. That little feather deely bopper on their head is something that not many birds have.

I've never seen a quail outside of politics except in a zoo.

Yeah...Dan is not that cute. I sat across from him at a dinner once, and if the conversation wasn't about golf he looked like he was going to die of boredom, or possibly just go to sleep.
