You're probably one of those people that wants the government to ban assault rifles too? I would be willing to bet that you don't even understand that pitbulls are not a purebred dog to begin with. How many other different breeds do you say should be eradicated?

Everything now said about pit bulls was once said about Doberman Pinchers, before that German Shepards, and Cujo was a St. Bernard.

Don't forget the Rottweilers. They were also almost destroyed.

Oh yes we can't forget Rottweilers. They used to be very dangerous.

Meanwhile the dog most likely to rip out your throat is the Chihuahua. They are the canine equivalent of the piranha.

Thirty-seven-year-old Perry Tochico was walking home from Dos Dudes from Detroit, a popular Mexican “casual dining” restaurant when, he said, a pack of vicious canines surrounded him and brought him to the ground in a scene straight out of Animal Planet.
Tochico sustained slight injuries to the ankles in the attack, which he told police had involved no fewer than ten dogs of various breeds, including doberman pinschers and at least one pitbull.
But none of Tochico’s descriptions could counter the humiliating details of the attack, which were captured on a now-deleted viral video and became an international sensation via Facebook.
In the video, a high-pitched Tochico is heard shrieking “Dear God, no! My ankle!” and “Hey, turn off the camera, man!” as five chihuahuas wrestled him to the ground before finishing him off with a series of ferocious bites to the nose.
Despite Tochico’s insistence that the chihuahuas were large, aggressive and had perhaps been “Africanized,” Animal Control officers on the scene reported that the dogs were petite and could only be described as “adorable.” The largest dog, a chocolate applehead named Frida, weighed only six pounds.
Close friends say Tochico struggled with the stigma and intense ribbing that usually follows chihuahua attacks, and while he survived the mauling by pint-sized pooches, he lost his battle with self-esteem this week.
“He left the world a broken and bewildered man, afraid of the sound of yapping,” a family spokesman told reporters outside the deceased’s home.
Tochico’s body was found in his garage by a gardener, and judging from the needle in his arm, he died of a self-inflicted steroid overdose.

There are more people bit by chihuahuas than any other breed but obviously the damage isn't as bad as a bigger breed. It's still not the breed as much as it is the way the dogs are trained, either purposely or accidentally.

LOL, they are not terribly dangerous, but they are pretty aggressive little personalities. You wouldn't want that personality in a large dog. However dogs are really susceptible to attitude, so little dogs with major attitude can scare off larger dogs. They psych them out and the Chihuahua, being so small, needs that attitude as a defense mechanism. Little terriers also have serious attitude. If you look these dogs up in the master book of dogs, there is usually a picture of teeth next to them.

So I walk a lot, said that already. Tons of dogs in my 6 mile walk back and forth to work.

Two I'll stop and pet over the fence, they wait for me. Great dogs.

A couple, more than that have little dogs and they look so cute. I can't pet or interact with them because they're too small for the fence and I don't know the owners but lol, they're territorial.

I think many if not most dogs bark and "secure" their territory because they want attention. They want you to come over and give them some love and I will do that and I'm cautious. I really do love animals and I do interact with them well because I respect them and demand it in return. I don't think many people understand this concept with animals.
