That's gotta suck. A lot of foods will make existing ulcers worse though.

I like hot sauce but that stuff is kind of nasty, IMHO.

I imagine hot sauce would make an open ulcer feel great!

I would suggest yogurt and probitics to get the gut flora back into sync.

It's chili sauce but the best part of it is the flavor - not the hot so much. Really tasty, garlicy.

I started eating that yogurt also, I hope I don't turn into a butch-dyke but I can tell it's having an impact on my pipes.

Seems to send my blood pressure up. For some reason, I can really feel that particularly in my head and face. It might be the sodium or maybe some other ingredient. This is what I get for eating so well for so long.

Is it your BP spiking or just flushing? Maybe it's an allergy?

Hmmm..maybe that's a better term. I get a flushed face and a hot head. Warm anyway. It seems to happen whenever I eat highly processed food now. I wasn't like that before. I first noticed it about 7 years ago. It seems to have started soon after I started running again. I began eating a lot fo whole grains but that was the only major dietary change. Same amount of lean meat. I've always eaten a lot of lean meat and vegis.

That happens to me with almost all spicy foods. I haven't been able to narrow it down to processed foods or otherwise. With alcohol sometimes it happens too, but it seems more random.
