I read the pasta recipe. It looks interesting and it's very simple. I may try it soon. I usually saute my kale with a lot of garlic (I mean A LOT) but the recipe calls for a quick 2 minute boil. You drop the kale into cold water to stop the cooking process and then squeeze out the excess water. I like my kale with body so I may shorten the boil to 1-1.5 minutes. The red sauce is a lot different from what I usually do. Not sure how that will taste but this is a pretty inexpensive dish.

As I said before I lay my kale on a baking pan, put olive oil and spices on it and bake it

Pork tenderloins are on sale. Big ones. I'm going with that as my primary protein this coming week. I'll stock up on asparagus, taters, and some other vegetables.

I'm not into honey and while I like pineapple I don't like mixing sweet and savory. There is not likely to be enough in the way of pan drippings for a gravy either. I usually eat lean pork with hot sauce so I'll probably go with that.

I sometimes slice up a chili pepper and eat each bite of meat with a piece of pepper. You ever try that? If it can ne kind of intense but if you get a mild pepper (jalapeno, for example) it's not bad.

Interesting story: I think I have been Vitamin D deficient since late Oct. I have been running less in the cold weather so I was at a loss to explain the sudden cramps in my legs and achy hip joints. It didn't make any sense. Then I was reading online that that is one sign of said deficiency. It all came together at that point. I've been getting very little sun and I've cut back dramatically on egg yolks since I found out my cholesterol was high. Yolks are one of the few foods with substantial levels of Vitamin D. I eat yogurt but it's simply not enough with my activity level. My buddy at work takes D supplements so I asked him for a few. Since I started taking them I have no cramps at all.

Really? I thought it would take a lot of sun deficiency to ever show something like that. I think I read about such a thing (ricketts?) during the Industrial Revolution in London.

That sounds pretty intense, I guess it would depend on the style pepper. I like Peter's idea of pineapple with it...actually I would probably combine all three, glutton that I am Sweet, spicy, and savory.

Ricketts is serious though. That's a disease, no? I think what I developed is pretty common and my lifestyle made it more noticeable. You're out in CA. Here in NJ I don't get much sun at all between late October and early March. I run when I get home from work when it's already dark or the sun is setting and I don't typically go out for lunch so 5 days a week I'm getting virtually no sunshine. That lasts for a substantial period of time.
