    I use Canola oil to cook with, better flavor I think. Peanut oil to fry fish.

    Tossed it in cold water with the seasoning packet and let it simmer on very low heat for 4 hours. It almost fell apart when I tried to take it out. I'm going to get another one before St. Patty's Day while they are on still one sale. I'll cook it in a month or so.
