As I said, the abolishment of slavery was not what the civil war was about as much as it was about the confederate states believing it was their right to spread slavery to non slave states.

Hmmm. I have never given any thought to "Juneteenth" until I read this email from my bank. It sounds like something made-up to appease the perpetually unhappy people.
I looked it up on Wikipedia, but there was more than two or three lines, so I didn't read it as I really don't care anything about perpetually unhappy people's holidays.
The Union was not against slavery. They waged war on the Confederate states because they wanted to take our slaves and keep them for their own use as slave labor.

No one in family tree was in North America at the time of these events. I find them interesting in the historical sense, but of course not relevant to me personally.
