Even at the pro level the men are on average better putters than the women. Why? This is not a test of strength, so what might be going on here? In theory professional women golfers should be every bit as good as professional male golfers in terms of putting or even chipping for that matter. I don't know about chipping, but it is pretty clear that the LPGA does not putt quite as well and the PGA.
This is purely out of curiosity, although improved putting might help them bridge the viewership gap.
Thoughts?
On the positive side I think the women are more sportsmanlike and less full of themselves than the men. In fact they just put on a show of support and sportsmanship that all young players, male or female should see.
FYI, in my house everyone I taught to play. My wife, son and stepson can out putt me. I have told my wife and others that she is the best straight putter I've ever seen ( in person of course) man or woman. Granted the first time I told her that I was angling for "off course activity" but it is TRUE. Non-golfers reading this must be asking what the hell "straight putter" means. No I did not mean that gay women putt better . For many of us golfers a straight putt can be harder to keep on line that one with a slight break. But not for her!
