I was walking to my car alone tonight

A very interesting exhibit of the times we live in.

Exhibit A is taken from TwoXChromosomes

I was walking to my car alone tonight, and this big guy was walking behind me.

I didn’t have my pepper spray on me, and was scared. I started to speed up to get to my car, and look around for literally anyone to help me. Suddenly, he ran across the street, and yelled “Sorry if I was scaring you! I’ll give you space and walk over here now!” I yelled back, “You actually were! I appreciate that!” He yelled back to me, “I try to be aware of myself around women. Have a nice night!”

THIS is how men should treat women on the street. Just a man’s presence, exhibiting no outward signs of a threat, is indeed threatening to a lot of women. And most dudes don’t even realize it. They can’t comprehend being alert and aware of our biggest threat (men) all. the. time. But tonight, this guy got it.

Can anyone see the similarity between Exhibit A above and Exhibit B below:
    Exhibit B

    Dear Diary,

On this lovely day of June '19, I was walking to my Model T alone tonight, and this big ***** was walking behind me.

I didn’t have my hatpin on me, and was scared. I started to speed up to get to my Model T, and look around for literally any gentleman to help me. Suddenly, he ran across the street, and yelled “Sorry if I was scaring you! I’ll give you space and walk over here now!” I yelled back, “You actually were! I appreciate that!” He yelled back to me, “I try to be aware of myself around Ladies.

Exhibit A falls very well within Democrat Identity Politics.

Exhibit B would be seen deservedly monstrous.

Hopefully, someday Democrats who are fine with logic of Exhibit A would be seen as monstrous as Democrats who were fine with logic of Exhibit B.

One interesting comparison: In the days of the Model T, restrooms were separated by races, but nowadays there is an effort to stop separating restrooms by gender. Imagine if in Exhibit B he would have said "Relax ma'am, I identify as white today". Should the woman nowadays be alarmed if the big guy follows her into the restroom instead of her car, or would that make her a bigot?

I give up. What is the above supposed to mean?

In the course of my day, I'm often required to decipher some pretty arcane b.s., mostly written by attorneys, and I've actually gotten quite good at it. This, however, is a puzzler. What are you attempting to say?

My point seems clear -- so it is strange that it is not understood.

I meant that Leftists who view every man as a potential danger or view all men as Privileged Oppressors are as bigoted as Democrats who advocated for Segregation a century ago. I am not referring to all Leftists and I hope there are egalitarian Liberals who would agree that all discrimination is wrong.

I'm not sure what point you are making here. Women walking alone at night have always been wary of men, since there has never been a time when some men haven't been predatory. Rape is as old as time.
In quoting my post, you affirm and agree that you have not been goaded, provoked, emotionally manipulated or otherwise coerced into responding.

Standing Wolf, I don't understand any of it either.
Might they have written...." On my way to my Model T I saw a big hulking guy walking behind me, but then i slid my hand into my purse and gripped my Colt Pocket .32, and kept on walking. Keeping one eye on him as I approached my car"

I must have missed the "discrimination" in the story. You're obviously trying to make some negative statement about "Leftists", but beyond that I'm afraid I still don't understand your point.

I understand both Exhibits and I voted that both fall into identity politics -- each in their own time.

Both stereotype. The first stereotypes males in general, while the second stereotypes black men.

Neither one are accurate because in both cases, the woman (statistic-wise) would not have been in danger. Perception is not reality.

Granted, cases exist where men, black or not, attacked women, raped them, killed them. But, suggesting the man should run across the street and apologize is counterproductive and it does not strengthen women as a whole -- it only weakens them.
