Internet Explorer is part of the OS. M$ was sued, in France, I think, for that, and lost, but can't undo it.

Windows 10, Settings, Apps, you can remove a lot but I don't bother. Just get a big hard drive.

MS worked out the bugs in 10. Seems to be working just fine now with the upgraded drive for me.

It's so much crisper than my 5-year-old Gateway and it has Bang & Olufsen speakers.

Now I just have to get used to Windows 10. The first thing I noticed was the absence of the familiar "Computer" and "Control Panel". Fortunately they still existed under Windows System and could be pinned to start, which is currently full of default garbage that I will shortly be editing.

One good thing is that I was able to sync my chrome account, so I have all my favorites and stored passwords.

Any tips and tricks for Windows 10?
First of all, congratulations! I know that you must be very proud of your new system.

I am using a quite old system--an Acer CPU coupled with a Dell monitor and keyboard--and the hard drive is a mere 232 GB (which is probably a bit less than tiny, in these days of terabytes, rather than gigabytes).

And I am still using Windows 7. (I am familiar with it, and see no need for an upgrade--or, more precisely, a mere change for its own sake).

I see that you are using Google Chrome. I do have Chrome--as well as Mozilla Firefox--but I really prefer to use Internet Explorer 10 for most things.

Again, however, I sincerely congratulate you on your new computer!

Amazon tells me my computer will arrive today before 8PM. That last time they said that the package arrive a 7:56 PM.

It might delete cortana, which I don't want to do. Does it allow you to pick what it deletes?

Thank you. I had IE, Chrome, Firefox and the new one that Common mentioned which I was trying out, on my old laptop. I am partial to Chrome but I like to have alternatives.

To find virtually anything, tap the little "Windows" icon in the bottom-left menu bar and just start typing. It'll pull up the program, folder, whatever. That's probably the handiest thing. You won't see a "Search" bar so don't let that confuse you -- just type whatever you're looking for.
    Ah, that's useful, thanks.

Do a search for Classic Shell. It's a free program that brings back the Win7 desktop to Win10.
I installed it on dozens of Client's computers and they love it.
