This thread is an epitome of boredom.

Stupid girl, did a stupid thing, hope she learns from it but I doubt it. Millennials are stupid, they don't learn fast.

Same stupid, bored interest in this thread is the same stupid boredom that this girl has in a way.

Irony is delicious, like ice cream.

LOL - no, I don't think I am the only person in the world, or even the only person that matters. And I said I didn't much like the supermarket brands of ice cream - too sweet, with artificial flavourings. But my mum has an ice cream maker, and it is to die for, and some of the Italian gelatos are great.

C'mon, the extra cost per unit with such huge production is still going to be pennies, and I don't know what 5 litres (a gallon) of ice cream costs in the USA but it would be many dollars - so adding even 20c to a gallon carton wouldn't make it unaffordable.

Even if no one bought a single oz of the affected ice cream both Walmart and Blue Bell have suffered more loss than just a single gallon of ice cream. Probably all of the ice cream in that case will be removed, just in case she licked more than one. Blue Bell is going to be blamed by people like you because they didn't put their ice cream in a totally insane patron safe environment.
You are making no effort to understand what I and others have written about this. No one has blamed anyone, other than the crazy girl. What we are suggesting is a relatively easy way to prevent anyone buying a food item which has been tampered with.

At a small additional, and easily recovered, cost to the manufacturer, and requiring a small amount of common sense from the purchaser, this danger can be avoided. It doesn't take a lot of intelligence or effort to look at the seal and make sure it hasn't been broken.

We went through this some years back when people were tampering with aspirins.
Personally, I think the offender in this case should be publically caned. Rather than add another cost to the food processing, the public caning would send a clear message. Problem solved. If the parents think it is extreme, issue the caning to them. They are more at fault than the juvenile delinquent. They should have taught better manners to their offspring animal.
You are still holding the manufacturer and the rest of the public responsible. How socialistic of you.
