9:21pm: under what seems a standard flood light of some kind. Quite a number of bugs, but hard to say if the light has attracted them. I suppose it has, but is it an issue? Eagle occasionally shakes them off. But we all get to watch it.
12:26pm a very eerie and loud sound echoed though the valley. The greys are coming out. It's time to hunt.
Well, good night, mr eagle. We'll leave the light on for ya.
Gee, I sure wish they'd that light off. Thank you.
You'd think Californians, being the progressive thinkers they are, would be thoughtful enough to do that.

5:30 am there, natural light now, eagle just a dark figure, screeching now and then.

I was at my younger brother's house Sunday. I had driven "down home" to check my parents' graves. Standing on the patio, I saw a shadow and looked up. I saw an American Bald Eagle swooping overhead. It circled around several times and it was unmistakable. So majestic. So beautiful.
Any time you give a man something he doesn't earn, you cheapen him. Our kids earn what they get, and that includes respect. -- Woody Hayes
