I think the corruption is far more ground level and contained within their own borders in those countries , like most non western countries. Although , many Russian companies made use of tax havens before the sanctions increased. Which , I suppose would be a boost to the Russian economy , because those companies have now returned to Russia and increased their use of the ruble. In Russia , new industries have sprouted , because the sanctions have created the necessity.

Another leftist completely ignorant of how economics works. When corporations "pay no tax", it is because they have invested their profits back into the company, creating jobs, and spreading the wealth around. This is a good thing. But of course, libs think giving that money to the government is somehow more noble, because the government is certainly responsible with it, and can do no wrong. There's no corruption in government, they are as pure as the wind driven snow. It would be far more efficient to simply burn that money, or flush it down the terlit.

They started with high corruption. So remaining with high corruption is the status quo.

So you don't think Trump colluded with the Russians, I knew we could agree on something! Happy Thursday, PJL.

That was the beginning. Not the turning point.

The turning point came with Glass-Steagall.

Within 5 years if current trends continue, for the first time in a century autocratic countries will have more than half the global wealth. My comments after the blurb.

Does it matter so long as western democracy remains strong? Economic wealth in autocratic countries does not harm us. It will help us since those people will buy our goods. And as people in those countries get wealthier they are likely to decide on their own that they want change.

Read the rest of the article. The author is much more pessimistic than I am.
Sounds like some subjective definitions there. But that's to be expected as democracy is really a continuum. It also would suggest that either Russia and China are not socialist or that socialism can be an economic success.

It (socialism) hasn’t been an economic success anywhere yet. How many more mulligans do they get?
