$1200 a month for a bunk bed in a shared space in LA - more in San Fran

Great thread! This may be the future. Maybe they will come up with a queen size bed pod for couple for $1800. That way they only have to pay $900 a month each.

What I can't understand is with the high rents why are there are not millions more homeless?

Pittsburgh has 3 bedrooms for $2500. Rustbelt used to be somewhat affordable, now is very pricey. I guess the $2500 a month for 3 bedrooms is a bargain looking at a bed for $1200 in CA.

I pay $2000 per month mortgage for a 5k sq ft home on 1.5 acres of woods in Madison, AL.

In NYC they have galvanized cage cubby holes built in basements, you rent a fenced room, they cover the walls with cardboard

They also have apts for 2 that are 3 ft wider and 3 ft longer than a full sized mattress
