Owning a home is a huge responsibility and a learned skill. We want people to own their own homes because it means that they are invested in their communities, have the personal pride and growth. I am all for all demographics owning their own homes. I think education is the key. We have to avoid another 2008 debacle.

Fanny and freddie had 5 trillion on outstanding . loans. 100 billion wont cone close to that or create a simular problem but i dont think the goverment has any business in loaning money.
Id much perfer to see a billion a year go in a program like jimmy carter was involved in building
Homes for all not just black people .
Single people making 15 a hour or couples demending on community

Terrible idea, giving people the ability to buy a house just because someone thinks it will help them improve their situation is stupid. On top of that stupidity is the notion that if they subsidize the down payment, that somehow it will negate the tried and true method of having people put some skin in the game so that they just won't walk away from the loan when times get rough...that is what caused the housing bubble to crash in '08.

This is what pandering looks like in real time.
