The suicide rate is astronomical, 'cause they can't get their body back again.

I just sat there after she said that It all makes horrifying sense.....
I knew an 18 year old transsexual many years ago before he/she had gender reassignment. He was male by birth but so feminine looking that no one could tell he was not a she. Very petite and very girly looking. I lost touch for about two years and then found out that about a year after having the surgery he regretted it. He wanted to be male again. That alone gives me pause. I'm sure that there are some who would never change their minds but it does make me wonder how much of this is truly genetic and how much is psychological.

I still consider myself a liberal in the classical sense, but cannot call myself a liberal because of how crazy many in the "liberal" movement have become.

Ethereal, I consider myself a moderate conservative, and like you am also in a quandary with some on the extreme right.
While I can tell they are right leaning, I am afraid to say much else because they might get triggered into a long emotional rant, and no one wants to hear that.
Though I am a moderate conservative, I am also a member of a real-life metaphysical new-age mystical type group that is fun to be around.
One of their biggest rules is to never talk politics with other members. This makes it nice while watching the hippie chicks dance around in their drum circles while barefoot with bells woven in their hair.

Being a Libra, I like the balance.
Though i am a certified gun nut, I also really enjoy this group too. I even gave a TED Talk at our last meeting.
Even the Samurai were poets, calligraphers, and painters.

It is just so easy to trigger people now-a-days. What gives?

Yeah, I saw that commercial with Wanda Sykes addressing that very topic.

I would guess that they are more OK with the LG than they are with the BTQ?

Don't know. I suspect it is more of what others have said- the in-your-face aspect of it.

I don't think their mental health or suicide rates improve much after coming out or surgery. That would seem to indicate a deeper mental illness at play.
