Outrage over killing of black teen over rap music complaint

I'm beginning to wonder what is wrong with some people. Apparently this guy "felt threatened" by hearing this rap music and stabbed the unfortunate kid who later died at the hospital. It's being claimed that the perp (who was just released from prison 2 days prior) was mentally ill yet while in prison, they did not classify him as being mentally ill, which leads one to wonder why he wasn't examined prior to his release. I think this needs to be addressed by the Arizona Department of Corrections.

PHOENIX (AP) — Hundreds of people including a presidential candidate spoke out on Twitter this week after a 17-year-old black youth was killed at suburban convenience store, allegedly by a white man charged Tuesday with first-degree murder who has said he felt threatened by the boy’s rap music.
Family members have told local media that Elijah Al-Amin would have turned 18 in two weeks and was looking forward to his last year in high school.
Friends and family hugged Monday at the Islamic Community Center in Tempe, where prayers for the teen were held before burial in Maricopa County.

Well the guy was crazy. Crazy people attack others all the time but because this was a white crazy guy that attacked a black person it's headline news.

I'm surprised that you're lumping in "people" when citing this example. Then citing the crazy person's excuse because it happened to be rap music the crazy guy used as the reason for attacking this kid.

I think the question that needs to be asked is "Is it really relevant that the victim was Black or was that just a matter of circumstance?"

If he was killed because he was Black, that is one thing. If he was killed because he was playing annoying music, that is another (and almost understandable).

The music wasn't even being played when the kid was murdered. They were inside the store at the time; he'd been playing the music outside in the parking lot in his car earlier.

You can't hide from the facts either. The guy was deemed crazy before he was let out of prison. Now he attacked a black guy for playing rap music and you want to make a political talking point out of it. I think that's disingenuous to say the least.
