I don't get the appeal of the tiny house. Why not just buy a nice fifth wheel, travel trailer or motor home?

This is probably the most cost effective. Besides, that's not a true "tiny" house, such as the Tumbleweed houses, which are designed to be mobile -- you can't pull one of these kit homes down the road -- too wide. Plus, the one in the OP is a shell, no wiring, plumbing, insulation, etc., which means you're just buying the frame, and you'd be money ahead to buy your own materials and construct the house, which is really nothing more than a glorified shed.

With a travel trailer, you'd have a "mostly" watertight envelope, be able to move it (road legal) and it'd come with elec. outlets, furniture, windows, insulation and the like.

As a builder, I would recommend steering clear of these kits unless you're experienced in carpentry, wiring, plumbing and you know how to construct a suitable foundation for the shed.

Again, I don't get the appeal if the tiny home when you can purchase a new or slightly used trailer or fifth wheel for the same amount of money or even less and have a more livable structure.
