Johnson definitely was the most racist. KKKlinton was racist too, especially when he mentioned that a while back Obama would have been getting coffee for everyone. And there was no more racist president than Obama.

Maybe he didn't want to rent his property to people who destroy it? I can not even count the number of stories where people claim that slum lords are the reason that housing is so bad, they will show pictures of a hole in the wall that has not been fixed, or a dripping sink, or lights that do not work, and in the background are piles of dirty clothes, dirty dishes, trash. So you have a hole in the drywall does that mean you have to live like a pig? How did the hole get in the drywall? In my entire life I have never seen a hole in the wall just appear, someone put it there.
Now I do not mean to imply that this is only with black people or other "people of color" white people do the same thing.
But maybe that is why he was picky of who he rented to.

I am not making an argument, I am just putting out a possible reason. Many times the damage caused by bad tenants far exceed any deposit. I have no idea what reason Trump's company may have used and neither do you. But you are right the courts ruled against them nearly 50 years ago, but was the case against him personally or his company, there is a huge difference.

Your point is well taken.
I've rented out property before; I always got 2 months security in addition to first months rent up front, plus I wanted a letter of recommendation, checked the persons credit and in the lease any damages that exceeded the deposit would be payable by the renter and if it ended up in court and we won, they'd pay all fees including attorney fees. I rented the property to three separate people over 20 years and had no issues whatsoever. I think proper vetting is necessary.

The ruling was against the corporation which I believe at the time consisted of Trump and his father. It dragged out over a time period before being settled.
