The ADA didn’t help? I’ll admit we don’t get much help preventing mentally disabled kooks from attacking us with guns, though.

This country has been bound together by freedom, patriotism, love of country, self-determination, respect and so many other things. I really don't know anybody that isn't thankful for living here.

We enacted the American with Disabilities Act in 1990. This law prohibits discrimination on the basis of disabilities in all areas of public life -- jobs, schools, transportation, restaurants, stores etc. We have litigated its enforcement and modified it to strengthen it. We have scores of programs to assist the disabled in our communities. I have disabled family members (2) and my mother was disabled. I have defended ADA claims brought against clients. I cannot remember a single claim where the client was aware it was in violation (not a defense under the statute) or didn't immediately make corrective action. I can't speak to your particular situation b/c I don't know it but overall, I think your statements are misplaced based on my observations and experience with the disabled I know.

What is it, specifically, you are requesting as far as more aid goes?

I do not know exactly -- perhaps USA should follow Canadian and Scandinavian examples.

So, if A) you don't know what you want..........or B) do it their way, you are left with two choices. Move to another country or quit complaining until you do know what you are requesting. Easy peasy

To a degree advocating for better rights for everyone is a civil duty.
