The ways in which liberals can excuse or justify hypocrisy on their side is truly impressive.

The story takeaway here should actually be that this sort of plea deal is incredibly common for a lot of reasons, some more complicated than others (like judicial efficiency, lack of evidence, etc.). Plea deals just get $#@! done, and it's better than nothing in cases involving sex crimes where the evidence is not always reliable or even in existence.
The story takeaway should be that this is a major issue in the criminal justice system where people get off easily for all kinds of crime, but particularly sex crimes.
What Harris did is so incredibly common, but instead of discussing the real issue we have a partisan hit job that totally misses the point.

Liberals can always find a way to justify a hypocrisy.
Naturally.....using the very same argument that should have been used with Acosta. But wasn't. Then having the Lame Stream along with the leftness connipt totally. Whining and crying. Sniveling until enough pressure causes the event that the snowflakes were looking for, to take place.
Now the shoe is on the other foot. Harris can run for president. But she needs to resign from being a Senator. Repubs should go into full conniption and keep on touting for Harris to resign. Right leaning sites too. Along with investigating more of the Plea Deals Harris made that ended up harming other people.
The Repubs and the Right must learn to treat the Demos and their brainwashed following the exact same way they treat others. Then never relent until the driven tissue issue mopes capitulate.

Oh....this is quite common....for a lot of reasons....some more complicated than others? Plea deals...why...they just get shiit done, huh?
Or...perhaps the take away should be another case.....like you mention these can be so complicated. https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2...-of-al-frankenThe story takeaway should be that this is a major issue in the criminal justice system where people get off easily for all kinds of crime, but particularly sex crimes.
The cade of Al Franken. Who now regrets resigning because some funny picture he took offended the woman. At the time, the man was a comedian. Or the case of Harvey Weinstein where that is a sexual 'assault' case cept there is no evidence of assault much less any sex partners that weren't in his office on their own volition. Or Kevin Spacey who is about to get his case thrown out because he didn't do anything wrong. You see.....many others aren't getting off easy, in fact, facing accusations of crimes that weren't committed as many special interests such as the MeToo push the narrative of assume guilt and make the accuser prove their innocence. Brett Kavanaugh another example.
Perhaps the reason why this is so complicated and so not easy is that many of these accusers of sex crimes....are full of shiit.
Please explain to my good friend Dr. Who. What goes around, comes around. What Harris did is so incredibly common, but instead of discussing the real issue we have a partisan hit job that totally misses the point.
In Al Franken's case, he resigned only three weeks after Leeann Tweeden, a conservative talk-radio host, accused him of having forced an unwanted kiss on her during a 2006 U.S.O. tour. Seven more women followed with accusations against Franken; all of them centered on inappropriate touches or kisses. Half the accusers’ names have still not become public. Although both Franken and Tweeden called for an independent investigation into her charges, none took place. This reticence reflects the cultural moment: in an era when women’s accusations of sexual discrimination and harassment are finally being taken seriously, after years of belittlement and dismissal, some see it as offensive to subject accusers to scrutiny. “Believe Women” has become a credo of the MeToo movement.
Believe the accused is innocent until proven otherwise was once our MO.
