    Golf Torney

My stepson and I played in my courses Member Guest Torney this weekend and did quite well. We played in the Championship flight and won! No, we didn't win , there are a couple teams that are quite literally out of our league. But we played very well, especially on day one when we went five under par in two man Captain and Mate format. Got a nice dinner and a few prizes and a good time and because of the flight we were in this year ( and thanks to a community that is getting well old) we did not have to play with a single drunk dude the whole three days.

I've come a long way in life. I can remember ( partly) playing a torney on the same course nearly forty years ago. Several young fellas and the extremely tolerant Club President who had to have seen the joints we were passing and who drank beer with us, just not stupid like us. Needless to say the results back then, despite being able to hit the ball much further, were not so good.

Between the golf, getting there a little early and hanging out after and some stuff at home I probably spent a good 24 hours outside in a three day period and it felt great. I didn't even mind the heat.

I golfed a bit when I was younger, wasn't that good but I could hold my own. Used to be a big slicer but I got around that.

I just golfed with drinking buddies and someone planted one of those exploding golf balls on me, I sliced it lol

When I was in WV I golfed once a year in the hospital fund raiser tourney. I belong to Rotary where I'm at now and they have a big tourney every year but I can't golf in it since I have to volunteer for the event, which is a great opportunity to get drunk and sunburned open pit bbq-ing tri-tip.

I once saw aguy have the exploding golf ball trick played on him in a torney in front of 50 or so people. He was pissed, but it was funny.

I golf. I’ve played in league tournaments.

I’m a golfer. Not a good one, but....

16 handicap. That’s my ceiling. I’ve been a 16 handicapper for at least ten years now.

Unless your good enough to make a living from it how good you are really doesn't matter . That's the great thing about golf. You can always compete against yourself. Of course that one damn shot that ruined the round is the bad thing about golf. LOL
Did you ever notice how a round is never quite good enough? some guy who has never broken 80 before can shoot a 77 but the conversation will always include how "it could have been a 75 but two putts lipped out". Never mind the 5 that fell. LOL. I am just as guilty as the next guy on this one.

One bad shot? Usually it's that one bad hole. I've never made just one bad shot.

I golf every weekend sometimes both days but mostly Sunday mornings. Saturdays there are various tournaments that are fun to play in. I just played and placed 3rd in my flight for the Club championship and am going to play in the Frederick City Amateur tournament later this month.
My step son and I play in the alternating shot tournament locally also. It's a blast.
We never drink while playing. I have enough issues and don't need to add liquid courage to my club selection.
